AUSSIE ROOTS DELUXE 50 Million Beers are a band from Sydney, Australia. Well, they think they might be from there. Details of their origins are sketchy and ill-recalled. Survivors of deadset legendary 80s Sydney venue Max's Petersham Inn claim to have seen the Beers' earliest gigs there. The band members themselves remember little of the 80s, let alone specifics. They have, however, prevailed, and stayed held together to this day with broken wings and answered prayers for just shy of 20 years. Over 25 players have come with the dust and gone with the wind through their torn and frayed ranks. The experience moved several to quit the music business, and others to benders from which they have yet to emerge. The Beers play roots 'n' blues 'n' songs of bootleggers, fugitives from justice and rambling gamblers. Some are well-worn covers from the great and good of America's musical past , but most are by their own trembling hand.
